Corinne Boynton Obituary
Corinne "Connie" Boynton

1930-2014 LEE Corinne "Connie" Boynton, 83, or Prospect Street, Lee, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at Berkshire Medical Center. She was born in Lancaster, Mass., on August 22, 1930 to August and Jemma Ughini Scarpa and graduated from Clinton High School in 1949. She worked as a secretary at Wickwire Spencer Steel Company, until she moved to Lee in 1958 into the house her husband built for their growing family. Connie later worked for 24 years in the Lee Public Schools cafeteria and became the Supervisor during the last six years of her employment until her retirement in 1997. She loved this job because she had the opportunity to combine the two things she truly enjoyed: feeding people and joking with students. Connie was also the Baton Twirling Instructor at Lee High School for many years. This unique talent originally caught the eye of her high school sweetheart, Robert D. Boynton, Sr. whom she married on September 15, 1951. They just celebrated 60 years of marriage before Robert's death on March 6, 2012. She was a communicant at St. Mary's Church and a member of the G. Marconi Lodge, #1620 Sons of Italy. Connie leaves one son; Robert D. Boynton, Jr., DDS and his wife, Nancy, of Northampton, Mass.; two daughters, Debra A. Snow and her husband, Greg, of Spencer, Mass., and Kathy E. Troczynski and her husband, Les, of Springfield, Mass., as well as six grandchildren; Andrew, Caitlin, Rachel, Emily, Evan and Matthew. She is also survived by her sister, Edith Pasquale of Clinton, Mass., and her brother-in-law, William O'Toole, of Wilmington, Delaware. Connie was predeceased by her brothers, Ernest and Robert Scarpa, and three sisters, Louise Pearce, Florence Mahan and Helen O'Toole. Connie will be remembered for her sense of humor and homemade cookies, which she loved to share with company. She always put her family's needs before her own and she will be greatly missed. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Connie Boynton will be held on Monday, May 5 at 9:15 from the Kelly Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Church in Lee at 10:00 AM with the Rev. John Connors, friend of the family, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, May 4 from 2-5 PM at the funeral home.
