Correll G. Pezzee

1929-2014 Correll G. Pezzee, 85, of Sheffield died Saturday, April 5 2014 in Bradenton, Fla. Born March 11, 1929 in New Haven, Conn., to Gordon L. Gibbs Sr. and Kathryn King Gibbs, she moved to Sheffield in 1938. Mrs. Pezzee worked 29 years at B-D in Canaan, Conn., retiring in 1991. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Valley Church in Sheffield and St. Joseph's Parish in Bradenton. She and her husband, Francis, were married on August 5, 1946 and over the years traveled to 48 states. Correll also visited Alaska, Mexico and Ireland. She enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Pezzee is survived by her husband, Francis, a daughter, Laraine Novak and her husband Richard, a son, Michael Pezzee and his wife Betsy. She leaves three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Petersen, Mrs. Linda Chase and Ms. Kathryn Hutmaker, two brothers, Thomas Gibbs and Donald Gibbs. She was predeceased by three brothers, Gordon L. Gibbs Jr., Richard Gibbs and James Gibbs, one sister, Leslie Conklin and brothers-in-law Donald Chase and Robert Chapin. Honoring Correll's request there will be no calling hours; a Funeral Mass in celebration of her life will be held at Our Lady of the Valley Church on April 26 at 10 AM with the Reverend Bruce N. Teague pastor officiating. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Correll's memory may be made to Our Lady of the Valley Building Fund or the Sheffield Senior Center in care of BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME 33 South Street Great Barrington MA, 01230.
