Courtland John "Jack" Prowse

Courtland John "Jack" Prowse of Stamford, Conn. passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the age of 82. He was born on May 30, 1930 in Dalton, Mass. to the late Courtand P. and Helen C. Prowse.

Jack was a graduate of Dalton High School and attended the University of Massachusetts. He proudly served his country as a Sgt. in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. After his service, he worked as a District Scout Executive in local Boy Scout Councils in Holyoke, Springfield, Worcester and Stoneham, Mass., and Stamford, Conn. He then worked as an Assistant Vice President for the Fidelity Trust Company and a Personal Banking Officer of Connecticut National Bank.

He is survived by his devoted and beloved wife of 39 years, Lorraine C. Lombardi Prowse; a sister, Marilyn E. Trethewy of Plainville, Mass.; his brother-in-law, Joseph A. Lombardi; his sister-in-law, Doris A. Horan of Stamford; many nieces and nephews, four grand-nephews and two grand-nieces.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Roberta Evans of Toronto, Canada; his brother, Kenneth W. Prowse; his sister-in-law, Jeanne A. Prowse of North Haven, Conn.; and his step-mother, Margaret A. Prowse of Dalton, Mass.

He was laid to rest at St. John R.C. Cemetery in Darien, Conn.
