1953 - 2015 PITTSFIELD Cynthia Phelps, 62, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 26, at Berkshire Medical Center with her family by her side after a courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy. Born in North Adams on Feb. 15, 1953 the daughter of Ernest and Norma Pearson Burdick she was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. She worked as a Nursing Assistant for many years at Springside Nursing Home. Cindy enjoyed reading and being out with friends playing Bingo. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her two daughters, Candy Jezewski, and Tanya Myrick; and her husband, Martin; two sisters, Cecelia Morrison, and Tammy Prather; a brother, Ernie Burdick; and her beloved grandchildren, Bryson and Jackson Jezewski, Kayla Phelps and Martin Myrick Jr. She was predeceased by a sister, Judy Burdick; and a brother, Wayne Burdick. Cindy also leaves her loving companion, Douglas Hawley. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Mar. 3, at 6 p.m. at the DWYER FUNERAL HOME, 776 North St., Pittsfield with the Rev. William Furey, officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Calling hours will precede the service from 4 - 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to , care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, in her memory.
