Daniel James Haley 1987-2012 PITTSFIELD Daniel James Haley, 24, of 142 Summer Street, Amherst, died Saturday, April 14, 2012, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident in Hadley. Born in Pittsfield on Dec. 30, 1987, a son of James Haley and Kathleen Sharron Munger, he was a 2006 graduate of Pittsfield High School and 2009 graduate of Berkshire Community College. He was expected to graduate in May from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a degree in chemical engineering. In the summer of 2010, Dan worked for AmeriCorps at the Grand Canyon National Park. When that job finished, he traveled 5000 miles on his motorcycle visiting most of American's national parks before returning to Amherst. Dan was a member of the Moscow Ballet Company. He worked in the U-Mass Theater Center. He was a member of the National Crazy 8 Association and in 2007 won National Champion. Smart, amicable, and hard working, Dan has left a hole in the hearts of family and friends. Besides his mother and his father, Dan is survived by his brother, Nathan Sharron; his paternal grandfather, Francis Haley; and his cousins, Michael, Jessica, and Jason Baczek, Alexander, Lauren, and Christopher Sykes, Amanda and Todd Kinnas, Drew Cole, and Hollis Sharron, as well as many loving aunts and uncles, and many, many friends. He was pre-deceased by his maternal grandparents, Louis E. and Anne C. Sharron; his maternal great grandmother, Emily McDonald; and his paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Haley. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Daniel James Haley will be held Friday, April 20, from 4 to 7 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME. Burial will be at a later date in Pittsfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Dan may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield
