David E. Alibozek

1936 2013 Mr. David Edward Alibozek, 77, of 110 East Mountain Rd., Adams, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. He was born in Adams on August 11, 1936, a son of the late Edward and Wanda (Lipka) Alibozek. He attended schools in Adams and graduated from the former Adams Memorial High School with the class of 1955. Following graduation, David married his high school sweetheart, the former Doris C. Burnett on March 9, 1957 and together they shared a country life of dairy farming for over 50 years, running Tophet Brook Dairy Farm in Adams. During the 50 years he built all of the barns and garages and other buildings with lumber he and his family had cut from the farm. He was a self-made farmer, loving every minute of it. David's life was quite successful, he and his family were able to develop Tophet Brook Farms into a "Dairy of Distinction" caliber farm for several years, building seven barns and clearing 100 acres of cropland for feed. He also achieved several milk quality awards for low somatic cell counts and above average butter fat concentrations. His dedication to farming at a high level was unwavering, while one of passion. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Cheshire. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Adams Sno Drifters and the Dairy Farmers of America. He loved his family and spending time watching them in all kinds of sports, including baseball, hockey and swimming. HE enjoyed snowmobiling, antiquing, going to country auctions and especially enjoyed trips to Aruba with his sister-in-law Jane Burnett and her husband and David's dear friend, Butch Burnett who passed away on October 30, 2013. Besides his wife Doris of Adams, he is survived by, three sons; Glenn Alibozek and his wife Heidi, Gary Alibozek and his wife Sharyn and Brian Alibozek, all of Adams; one daughter, Cheryl Johnson and her husband Chris of East Arlington, VT; six grandchildren; Chad Boulger who lives at the farm and together with Brian continue to work the dairy farm, Ashton Alibozek and his fiance Kelly Burzimati, Garrett Alibozek and his girlfriend Ashley Rancourt and Travis, Jazmine and Jamielyn Alibozek; three great grandchildren; Blake, Javery and Natalia Prevey; three brothers; Edward Alibozek, Jr., and his wife Judy, Timothy Alibozek and his wife Carol and Mark Alibozek and his wife Diane; three sisters; Ruth Wilusz, Betty Krzanik and Barbara Alibozek and many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be on Monday, December 30, at 2:00PM in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service, in the funeral home. The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests memorial donations be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Rd., Pittsfield, MA 01201.
