David Williams Obituary
David 'Lumpy'

Williams

Our hearts have been devastated again with the death of our beloved brother, Lumpy. His very large and wonderful heart finally gave out last Tuesday evening on his way to see his sister. He leaves a huge and loving legacy as Sonoma's Santa for the past 45 years, as well as a lasting legacy in the national cycling world as reported in Velo News this week. He was an inveterate Red Sox fan, a genetic issue we all share. He was also our mother's devoted caregiver for the past four years. She died in June, and in the end it may simply be that his heart was too broken to carry on.

Regardless of our pain, we are deeply comforted knowing he is now at peace.

Lumpy is survived by his sister, Judith (Tree) Williams (Tom Azevedo) of Rio Nido, his brother Gary (Diane Wall) of Novato and his niece and nephew Morgan and Graham Williams. He is also survived by his adored aunt, Peg Cadorette of North Carolina and his Cadorette cousins as well as numerous other East Coast cousins, and finally, the legions of friends across the country.

All of our lives have been forever indelibly changed by his connection to us.

A celebration will be held at the Sebastiani Theater in Sonoma on November 3, 2012 at 1:00 pm with a potluck reception to follow at the Community Center in Sonoma. If desired donations may be made to the Sebastiani Theater Foundation, PO Box 874, Sonoma 95476. Duggan's Mission Chapel
