Della Y. Shogry

1929-2014 PITTSFIELD Della Yvonne Bonneau Shogry, 84, died peacefully at home on Friday morning, August 22. Della was born in Pittsfield on August 27, 1929, daughter of the late Oscar N. Bonneau and Juliette Rheaume Bonneau and was a 1948 graduate of Pittsfield High School. On December 27, 1950 she eloped and married the love of her life, George Shogry Sr., in the state of Vermont. When he returned home from the Army in 1953, they remarried in Notre Dame Church in Pittsfield and spent the next 63 years together residing in Pittsfield. Della was primarily a homemaker for most of her life and her amazing heart and generosity touched the lives of all who met her. Della loved spending Saturdays shopping and going out to breakfast with her daughter, a tradition they practiced for the last 30 years, She also enjoyed spending time with her son and daughter-in-law and her three beautiful granddaughters, as well as talking on the phone with her two nieces, Joie Bourassa and Stephanie Danforth, that she looked upon as her daughters, Della leaves her husband, George Shogry Sr.; her son, George Shogry Jr. and his wife, Sharon; her daughter, Cindy Shogry-Raimer and her husband Nathan, all of Pittsfield; her three granddaughters, Heather, Erin and Corrinn, and her great -grandson, Torin. She is survived by her sister, Bertha DelGallo and husband Remo; her brother, Victor Bonneau and wife, Suzann; her brother-in-law, Raymond Shogry and wife, Sharon; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, Rene and Ernest; her sisters, Arlene Harris and Rita Archambault; and her loving father-in-law, Samuel Shogry. FUNERAL NOTICE: There are no calling hours. A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family.
