Derrick J. Vonberg Jr.
OTIS Derrick J. Vonberg Jr., 22, of Otis, passed away suddenly on June 23. He leaves his mother and father, Karen M. Vonberg and Derrick J. Vonberg Sr.; two brothers, Patrick and Christopher, and Damion, as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Derrick was smart, funny, creative and talented, beloved by all who knew him. A student of the earth, a free spirit uninhibited by classroom walls or conventional learning, he was a vocalist who wrote the music he sang, and an artist whose creativity sprang from deep within.
Friends and casual acquaintances will remember him for his charisma and his infectious laugh, qualities that made it impossible to be unhappy in his presence.
Within his closely-knit immediate family, he was to his brothers a "super-hero," to his mother a loving and generous person whose heart was filled with love, and to his father a son who couldn't have made him prouder.
