Diane M. Tramontini Maynard 1943-2012 NORTH ADAMS Diane M. (Tramontini) Maynard, 68, of 75 Brooklyn Street, North Adams, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at North Adams Regional Hospital. Born in Chicago, III., on November 3, 1943, she was the daughter of Vernon Tramontini and the late Frieda Stolp Tramontini. Diane earned a Bachelors Degree in English and Literature from Barnard College, as well as a Degree from The Julliard School, where she majored in voice. She has held positions as the organist/choir director at Pope John Paul the Great in Adams, the former St. Francis of Assisi Church, North Adams, St's. Patrick & Raphael Parish in Williamstown as well as the organist at St. Mary's Church in Cheshire, MA. Diane worked as a visiting voice teacher at the MCLA, where she also assisted the Campus Community Choir as accompanist and soloist. She taught two generations of students in music instruction and shared her talents as a vocalist, organist, pianist and guitarist throughout the community and Berkshire County. She also performed as the soloist at the Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in North Adams for several years. Diane was an avid poet, was a very loving and supportive mother and an adoring grandmother. In addition to her father, Diane is survived by three children, her daughter Yagi Tramontini of San Francisco, Calif., and two sons, William Greenlaw of Adams, and Jake Spitz of North Adams. She also leaves her grandson, Novae` Legiec and one brother Ralph Tramontini of Michigan. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Celebration of Life for Diane Maynard will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Calling Hours are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, WEST CHAPELS, 521 West Main St. North Adams, Ma. Burial will be private. Donations may be made to the Diane Maynard Music Scholarship Fund.
