Domenic G. Palmieri

1938-2012 SUNRISE, FLA Domenic G. Palmieri, age 74, of Sunrise, Fla. and formerly of Pittsfield, Mass., passed away on August 18, 2012 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by the loving presence of his family.

He was born June 3, 1938 in Mechanicville, N.Y., the son of the late Rose (Marino) Palmieri and Domenic H. Palmieri.

He was a member of The Assemblea Christiana Pentecostal Church in Mechanicville. He graduated from Mechanicville High School in 1956. Following graduation from high school Domenic relocated with his family to Pittsfield, Massachusetts in 1956.

He served in the United States Army in 1957 and was stationed at Reykjavik, Iceland, in the Iceland Defense Force where he was a team lead of the helicopter division.

Upon moving to Sunrise, Florida in 1970 he became the successful founder and owner of a popular restaurant, Wing City, until his retirement.

Domenic was an avid golfer and a loyal fan of the Miami Dolphins football team and the New York Yankees baseball team.

Domenic leaves his wife, the former Patricia Szczepaniak; a son, Kevin, of Sunrise, Fla.; a daughter, Karen, of Loxahatchee, Fla.; a sister, Rita Palmieri DeFino, of Pittsfield; and two grandchildren, Nicholas and Angel Palmieri of Sunrise. He also leaves his three brothers-in-law, Randall Szczepaniak of Oakland Park, Fla., Richard Szczepaniak of San Diego, Calif., and Joseph Szczepaniak Jr. of Lanesboro, Mass.

He was predeceased by two brothers, David Allen Palmieri and Gennaro Palmieri.

Following a Celebration of Life Service by Rev. Larry Pettit at the Church by the Glades, Coral Springs, Florida, burial will be at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Florida.
