Donna Lee Howe

1943 - 2014 ADAMS Mrs. Donna Lee (Hewitt) Howe, 71, of 16 Melrose St., died on Thursday, Aug. 21, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. She was born in Reading, Penn. on May 18, 1943, a daughter of the late Floyd and Jacqueline (Light) Hewitt. She attended schools in Pennsylvania and graduated from the Governor Mifflin Senior High School with the class of 1961. Mrs. Howe was primarily a homemaker but had worked part time for the former North Adams Transcript retiring in 2008. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Donald A. Howe, whom she married on Aug. 3, 1974; three sons, Theodore Howe and his wife, Darlene, of Adams, Harry Mountz and his wife, Robin, of Pittsfield, and Raymond Gould of Osterville; two daughters, Christine Johnson and her husband, Kenneth, of Marion, N.Y., and Jody (Mountz) Howe of North Adams; eight grandchildren,Michael Shoestock, Jamie Johnson, Philip Bush, Cody Mountz, Jordan Mountz, Jacqueline Cavagnaro, Ashlynn Mountz and Landon Mountz; four step-grandchildren, John M. Shoestock, Jr., Dawn (Shoestock) Kegresse, Melinda A. Williamson and Jenna P. Williamson; two sisters, Patricia Koch and her husband, Henry, of Oley, Penn., and Laurie Sombers and her husband, Frank, of Ephrata, Penn; five nephews, Mark, Andrew and Christopher Koch and Stephen and Cory Hewitt; two nieces, Shannon Guck and Courtney Sombers. She was predeceased by her son, Richard D. Mountz; by her brother, Michael Hewitt; and by her nephew, Anthony Hewitt. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, Aug. 31, at 12 NOON in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, which is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Sunday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service in the funeral home.
