Doris E. Clark
1918-2014 Doris E. Clark, 96, formerly of Maple St. in Lee, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Mount Carmel Care Center in Lenox. She was born in Norwood, MA on January 8, 1918, the daughter of Frank Abele, Sr. and Nellie Hoffen Abele. Doris was educated in the Lee schools and was a graduate of Lee High School. She served as a volunteer for 23 years at the former Hillcrest Hospital Gift Shop. She spent many years creating ceramics for family and friends. She was a Pink Lady in Pittsfield for 20 years, she loved all kinds of wildlife, especially birds. She was a local Avon Lady for many years and kept up on national political issues right to the end. Doris is survived by her son, Rodney F. Clark and his wife, Tina, of Tyringham, MA, and four daughters; Joan C. Hughes of Palm Harbor, FL, Shirley M. Sullivan of Westfield, MA, Linda E. Richards of Woodbridge, VA and Phyllis A. Clark of Palm Harbor, FL. She also leaves eight grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Doris was predeceased by her brother, Frank Abele, Jr., her sister, Mildred Vranas and a grandson Gary Plaquet. FUNERAL NOTICE: A funeral service to celebrate the life of Doris Clark will be held Sat. Jan 25th at 11am at the First Congregational Church in Lee, MA, with the Rev. Bill Neil, pastor, officiating.
