1918-2016 On March 1, 2016 the Angels came to take Doris in their arms to guide her on her final journey to be reunited with her children Barbara, Dickie, Joe and grandson Ricky whom she loved dearly. Born on February 22, 1918 daughter of Samuel and Julia Brombach Dean of Pittsfeld, Doris was a graduate of St. Joseph High School. She later became a licensed LPN. Mrs. Hogan worked at the former Hillcrest Hospital and then was a supervisor at Young's Nursing Home for many years. She last worked for Berkshire County Arc. Doris was a strong, kind, caring woman who would help anyone in need. Most of her life was spent taking care of others as a nurse. Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting Doris loved her. She had a great personality and a twinkle in her eye. She never missed a beat. Her greatest joys in life were spent with her family enjoying good times. She was always up for a party!! She is survived by her loving daughter Beverly Doyle Hildreth and son-in-law Robert Lee Hildreth; brother Samuel Dean and his wife Mary; grandchildren Gerald and Beth Doyle, Debbie and Thomas Lussier, kellie and Joe Klesel, Timothy Doyle, Joseph and Kalena Scherben, Debbie and Thomas McMahon, Thomas and Roxie Scherben, Donna and John Bordeau, Sandra White and Ken and Jill Delisle; 14 great grandchildren , 8 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by her husbands Joseph Scherben and George Hogan; sons Joseph and Richard Scherben; daughter Barbara Salata ; grandson Richard Delisle; son-in-law Gerald S Doyle, and daughter-in-law Frances Scherben; sisters Evelyn Maces, Eleanor Wolfer, Florence Belot, brother Robert Dean. A special thank you to Kimble Farms Nursing Facilty and HospiceCare in the Berkshires for their special care. Also thank you to all her neighbors at Wahconah heights for their help and kindness. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mrs. Doris Hogan will be Monday, March 7, 2016 at 9 a.m. from the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 2 to 4 p.m. If friends desire, donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, in her memory.
