Doris G. Patoka

1923 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Doris G. Patoka of 101 Barry Road, Worcester, Mass., died on Sept. 25, 2014 at the Rose Monahan Hospice House. Ms. Patoka was born in New York City on Nov. 19, 1923, the daugher of Jacob and Mary Goldsmith. She came to Pittsfield in 1949 and purchased and ran J & J Lock & Hardware, Inc., with her husband, Oscar Patoka, until 1984 when the business was sold. She was a member of Temple Anshe Amunim, a life member of Berkshire Hills Hadassah, and a member of Women of Reform Judaism. She enjoyed volunteer work and was an active Bridge player. She leaves three children, Jude Patoka of Pittsfield, Martin Patoka and his wife, Kathrina of Richardson, Texas and Myra Patoka Fortugno and her husband, Chris of West Boylston, Mass. She also leaves five grandchildren, Lisa Dietz, Sarah Dietz, Jennifer Dietz Kumar, Marc Fortugno and Marissa Fortugno. She leaves one great-granddaughter, Aria Kumar. FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Pittsfield Cemetery Anshe Amunim Section with Rabbi Joshua L. Breindel, Spiritual Leader of Temple Anshe Amunim officiating.
