LENOX - Dorothy Anderson, 93, of Kimball Farms died early on June 11th in her home. A long-time resident of Dalton, she moved to Kimball Farms in Lenox in 2002.

She was born in Troy, NY, on April 12, 1925, the daughter of Ewald and Anna Meyer Anderson. A 1942 graduate of Heatly High School in Green Island, NY, she was valedictorian of her class. She continued her education at Paine Hall School in New York, NY, graduating as valedictorian in 1945 with a Medical Assistant Certification.

During her working career, Dorothy was employed in the Payroll Department at General Electric (Schenectady, NY), as a Medical Assistant in Physicians' Offices in New York City and Schenectady, NY, and as a secretary at Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory (Schenectady, NY).

She volunteered as a Red Cross Gray Lady at Bronx Veterans Hospital in NY after WWII. Locally, she served as a Dalton Representative on the Central Berkshire Regional School Committee for 22 years, retiring in 1998.

Dorothy was a long-time member of The Pembury Bridge Club and the Votre Soiree Dance Club in Pittsfield. She enjoyed traveling, duplicate bridge, dancing, and reading.

She was married on December 14, 1957 to Robert P. Anderson, who predeceased her in 2001. Her brother, Robert H. Anderson, predeceased her in 2017.

She is survived by: Four children and their spouses: Tom Anderson (Kathy Galgano) of San Jose, CA; John Anderson (Donna) of Auburn, MA; Nancy DaSilva (Tony) of Irvine, CA; and Carol Anderson (Steve Crane) of Colchester, VT. Seven grandchildren: Laura Kate Bender (Al) and Phillip Anderson; Nick and Chris DaSilva; Robbie Anderson; Rebecca and Julia Crane. And one great grandchild: Ashton Bender.

Dorothy would like to thank her "Kimball Farms family", both residents and staff, for their support and friendship over the past fifteen years.
