Dorothy E. Luppino

Dorothy E. Luppino, 95 of Glen Rock, N.J., died on January 4, 2013. Born in Scranton, Pa., she resided in Glen Rock for 48 years. She was an active member of The Community Church of Glen Rock. Previously she was with Marble Collegiate Church in New York, actively involved in their young adults group.

Dorothy attended the College of William and Mary studying theater. She was active in many summer stock productions. During the war she moved to Hawaii and worked as a mechanic in an airplane factory. Later she returned to Washington to work as a secretary for a Senator. She then moved to New York and joined the Young Adults group at Marble where she met her husband Domenick.

While raising her family in Glen Rock, she volunteered at Valley Hospital's Kurth Cottage and with Meals on Wheels.

Survivors include her devoted daughter Leslie of Pittsfield, with whom she lived with for the last year and a half of her life and her devoted son John and his wife Catherine. She was the loving grandmother of Margaret and Sarah, and dear aunt to Brian and Alexandra, and great aunt to Maya, Olivia and Anna.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband Dom and her brother David and loving aunt to David's children Rae and Ani.

Memorial service will be on Saturday February 9, 2013 at 2 p.m. in New Jersey.
