Dorothy K. Siok

1926 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Dorothy K. Siok, 87, of Pittsfield, passed away, Friday, May 22, 2014, following a long illness. Dorothy was born in Pittsfield on Sept. 14, 1926, daughter of Felix P and Mary Ann Potash. She attended local schools. She worked at the Wyndotte Mill and the Pittsfield's Veterans' Administration before she retired from the City of Pittsfield as the Clerk of Liquor License Board. Dorothy was a member of Holy Family Church and their Mothers' Guild before joining St. Joseph's when Holy Family closed. She was a bowler, golfer and just loved to have a good time. Dorothy was very active with the Pearl Harbor Attack Veterans as her husband, Paul, and companion, Chet, were both Pearl Harbor attack veterans. Dorothy wintered at her home in Palmetto, Fla., for over 20 years and enjoyed spending time with her neighbors and friends golfing, cooking and entertaining at happy hour. She was a great cook and will be remembered by family of her specialties. In the summer, Dorothy entertained family and friends at her backyard pool and deck. She loved listening to the Polish Program on Sunday mornings and had songs played for all family members and friends for their birthdays and anniversaries. Dorothy's companion for 18 years, Chester Stoklosa, passed away in 2011. Chet accompanied Dorothy to Florida each winter, also enjoying dancing, golfing and entertaining. Dorothy leaves two daughters, Geraldine (Geri) McGinnis Porter of Pittsfield, and Anne (Nancy) Kozlowski and her husband, Walter, of Dalton; six grandsons, Kyle Kozlowski, Brennan and wife Lora Kozlowski, of Pittsfield, Kollin and wife, Amy Kozlowski of Dalton, Shaun McGinnis and wife Lori of Bellows Falls, Vt., Christopher McGinnis of Astoria, N.Y., and Scott McGinnis of Pittsfield, and 10 great-grandchildren, Aleah, Karissa, Kelton, Josh, Dayton and Shay Kozlowski and Ranger, Draven, Gracie and Lola McGinnis. Dorothy enjoyed her grandsons and their families over these past 47 years with babysitting, camping, and swimming at her pool. If ever you were in need of help, she was there. Dorothy was predeceased by her siblings, Catherine Fitch, Josephine Decker, Frank, Joseph and Stephen Potash. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Dorothy K.
