1939 - 2013 PITTSFIELD E. Anne Porter McMahon, 74, of 12 Austin Ave. died Sunday evening at the Hillcrest Commons. She was born in Santa Claus, Ind., on Dec. 18, 1939, one of 14 children of the late Bernard and Priscilla Birchler Porter. She attended the local schools there and was a graduate of Dale Senior High School. Upon graduation, she enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a radio operator for several years until her discharge. She came to Pittsfield shortly thereafter and was employed in the treasury offices at the former Big N for several years. She was employed as an inspector for 16 years at the General Electric Co., prior to her disability retirement. She attended St. Joseph's Church and enjoyed cross country skiing, bowling, tennis and playing golf. Mrs. McMahon enjoyed her pool at home and tending to her large garden. Additionally, she enjoyed entertaining at all the family picnics in her yard. She and her husband of 53 years, Barry J. McMahon, were married Oct. 15, 1960. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two daughters, Colleen P. Chaloux and her husband, Russell Chaloux, of Pittsfield and Melissa McMahon Hawley and her partner, Dee Lewis of Pittsfield; three grandchildren, Christopher, Nicholas and Tayshia, and seven great-grandchildren; her seven sisters, Linda Ducholz of Belle Mead, N.J., Jean Hay of Austin, Texas, Collette Kennedy and Judith Stillwell of Evansville, Ind., Denise Porter of Cannelton, Ind., Debra Blakely of Gentryville, Ind., and Joyce Parker of Forney, Texas; two brothers, Charles Porter of Ferdinand, Ind., and Patrick Porter of Newburgh, Ind. She was predeceased by four brothers, Jim, Tom, Mike and Regis Porter. FUNERAL NOTICE: McMahon, E. Anne, age 74, of Pittsfield, died Dec. 29. Calling hours at the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME will be Wednesday, Jan. 1, from 3 to 6 pm. Funeral services will be held Thursday from the DEVANNY-CONDRON FUNERAL HOME at 9:15 a.m., followed with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 at St. Joseph's Church with the Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the in care of the funeral home.
