Edward Krutiak

1922 - 2014 ADAMS Edward Krutiak, 91, of 9 Overlook Terrace, died early Thursday morning, July 31, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield. Born in Adams on Dec. 2, 1922, a son of Theodore and Helena (Rogowa) Krutiak, he attended schools in Savoy. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Air Corps in Hawaii, until his Honorable Discharge in 1946. Mr. Krutiak owned and operated the former Krutiak Wood Products Co. in Clarksburg for over 50 years, until selling the business in 2004. He had been a communicant of the Parish of St. John Paul II at Notre Dame des Sept Douleurs Church. He was a member of Adams Post 160 American Legion. He enjoyed the outdoors, and especially enjoyed growing and harvesting his own Christmas trees. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, the former Dorothy L. Lagoy, whom he married on Aug. 27, 1943; two sons, Ronald Krutiak and his wife, Mary, of Clarksburg, and James Krutiak and his wife, Patricia, of Adams; a daughter, Kathy Krutiak and her husband, Paul Pinsonneault, of Savoy; six grandchildren, Daniel Krutiak, Amanda Rosenburg, Jason Krutiak, Mark Krutiak, Derek Pinsonneault and Justin Pinsonneault; on great-grandson, Noah Pinsonneault; a sister, Millie O'Sullivan of Saco, Maine, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by a son, Gerald Krutiak, in 1977, and by his other siblings. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held Monday, Aug. 4, at 10 a.m. in the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. The Rev. Steven Montesanti, pastor of the Parish of St. John Paul II, will officiate.
