Edward Anthony Recchia

1918-2012 ADAMS Edward Anthony Recchia 93, of 18 Edward Ave. Adams, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, in Pittsfield.

He was born in Pittsfield on September 28, 1918 a son of the late Lorenzo and Antoinette (D'Arcangelo) Recchia. He attended schools in Pittsfield. He was a decorated veteran of the United States Army serving with the 3rd Division during World War II.

He was owner of Bernard Beauty Supply Co. serving Berkshire County for many years. Edward enjoyed golf and was a longtime member of Wahconah Country Club in Dalton. He also enjoyed ball-room dancing. He was a member of the Sons of Italy ITAM Lodge #564 in Pittsfield.

Edward is survived by his loving friend and partner of many years, Ann Stergis, daughter Joan, his grandchildren, John and Catherine and Catherine's husband Dan, and his great grandchildren, Jack and Mary, his friends and neighbors for more than 60 years, the Rowley Family, and his brother, Richard. Edward leaves behind countless friends and family members.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Edward A. Recchia will take place at 10 a.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Bencivenga Funeral Home, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, MA. Members of the Sons of Italy ITAM Lodge #564 will meet Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. for a ritual service. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams, MA. Calling hours at the funeral home are Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
