Edward F. Supernaugh 1929-2012 Edward F. Supernaugh, 83 of Melbourne, Fla., died July 7, 2012, at Consulate Health Care of Melbourne. Born in Great Barrington May 18, 1929, the son of Robert J. and Frieda Hamm Supernaugh, he attended schools here and in Chatham, N.Y. Mr. Supernaugh served in the US Army from January 16th, 1951, until he was honorably discharged with the rank of Corporal on January 16th, 1953. A printer by trade, he was employed at the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island, Fla., for 25 years and later owned and operated his own printing business for several years in Melbourne. Mr. Supernaugh is survived by his wife of 45 years, Virginia Gaillard Supernaugh of Melbourne; three sons, Gary, Peter, and Thomas Supernaugh who reside in the Virginia-Washington, DC area; three stepsons, Scott, Larry, and Mike Whitehurst, all of Melbourne; two sisters, Virginia Palfini of Great Barrington and Sylvia A. Decker of Pittsfield; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dogs Niki and Molly. He was pre-deceased by sisters Dorothy Kosakowski and Betty Landis, and brother Robert J. Supernaugh, Jr.; and by his first wife, Eileen Ross Freeman. A graveside service was conducted Friday at Elmwood Cemetery in Great Barrington. In Lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to Vitas Hospice of Melbourne in care of the ROCHE FUNERAL HOME, 120 Main Street, Lenox, MA 01240.
