Edward J. Trela

1916-2013 ADAMS Mr. Edward Joseph Trela, 96, of 40 Victory Terrace, Adams, died early Thursday morning, January 10, 2013, at Williamstown Commons.

He was born in Adams on May 21, 1916, a son of the late Franciszek and Aniela (Gora) Trela, and attended Adams schools.

He was a Veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army, until his Honorable Discharge in 1945.

Mr. Trela last worked as a supervisor at the former Arnold Print Works in Adams for 24 years, until retiring in 1981. Earlier, he had worked as a loom fixer at the former Berkshire Fine Spinning Co. in Adams.

He was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, and a member of the Mountain Club.

His wife, the former Jeannette Fillion, whom he married on May 11, 1940, died on February 12, 1969.

He is survived by a son, James Trela, and his wife, Carol, of Baldwin, Maryland; A sister, Stacia Guettler of Deerfield Beach, Fla.;

His longtime companion, Felicia Clarke of Adams; four Grandchildren, four Great Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, John Trela; by two brothers, Casimer and Roman Trela, and by two sisters, Mary Romaniak and Helen Kissel.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Saturday, January 12th, at 9 a.m. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St. Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams.

Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery, Adams.
