Elda Paduano

Elda Paduano, 74, of Pittsfield died March 22 at her home after a short battle with cancer. Elda was born in Cerreto Sannita, Province of Benevento, Italy. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Lorenzo & Maria Paduano and her brother Antonio Paduano. She is survived by her brother, Vincenzo and his wife, Rose of Pittsfield and her sister Maria Filippelli of Cerreto Sannita, Italy and several nephews, nieces, and her cherished friend, Antoinetta Breda. She worked at General Electric and Crane & Co. Elda was a member of Sacred Heart Parish and the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish. She enjoyed cooking, attending parish activities, and traveling to her home in Italy. Above all, spending time with her family was the most important thing to her. Courageous, honest, kind-hearted, Elda was a woman of great faith whose strength, wisdom and sense of humor touched her family and friends in special ways throughout her life. All that knew her, loved her. She will be dearly missed by all. The family would like extend their gratitude and special thanks to Elda's caregivers Roseanna St. Pierre, Heather Desanctis, and Stefanie Koenig. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be Tuesday, March 25, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. from the FLYNN AND DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., Pittsfield, Mass. 01201. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S., officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling Hours at the funeral home will be Monday, March 24, from 4-7 p.m. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of the funeral home.
