Eleanor Patricia Keegan

1930 - 2015 PITTSFIELD Eleanor Patricia Keegan, 84, of Beaumont Drive, formerly of Cheshire Road, died Sunday, Feb. 1, at Sweetbrook Care Center in Williamstown. Born in Pittsfield on Nov. 13, 1930, the daughter of Thomas M. and Winifred Keresey Duggan, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1948 graduate of St. Joseph Central High School. Mrs. Keegan had a long career as a telephone operator. From 1948 until 1956, she was employed by New England Telephone Company. Returning to the workforce in 1965, she was the Switchboard Operator and Receptionist at E.D. Jones until 1975. In 1978, she went to work for Sears from where she retired in 1990. She was a communicant of the former St. Francis Xavier Church. She was an animal lover, and also enjoyed reading and listening to Frank Sinatra music. She especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Her husband, John E. "Skip" Keegan, III., whom she married June 23, 1951, in St. Mark Church, died February 25, 1985. Mrs. Keegan is survived by seven sons, Michael E. Keegan, Daniel P. Keegan, Shaun F. Keegan, Terrence P. Keegan, Christopher T. Keegan, Brian J. Keegan, and Kevin A. Keegan; twelve grandchildren, Kellie, Timothy, Patrick, Kristen, Michele, Thomas, Katie, Bridget, Michael, John, Jared, and Alaina; and seven great grandchildren, Madeleine, Loghan, Sofia, Matthew, Declan, Alexa, and Brody. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Eleanor Patricia Keegan will be held Friday, Feb. 6, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., at St. Mark Church celebrated by the Rev. John C. Salatino, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society, the Eleanor Sonsini Animal Shelter, or to the all in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
