Eleanor L. (Battaini) Rotz

1937 - 2016 Eleanor L. (Battaini) Rotz, 79 of Pittsfield, died Friday, July 29, 2016 at Craneville Place of Dalton. She was born in Pittsfield, MA on April 25, 1937, a daughter of the late Angelo and Onorina (Baldassari) Battaini. She attended Pittsfield Schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1954. She was employed by the United States Government for 32 years with the United States Navy and the General Services Administration Dept. in Norfolk & Arlington Virginia and Washington D.C. She had worked in the Personnel, Procurement, Administration and Marketing Departments and retired in 2001. She was a communicant of Sacred Church and a member of the Sacred Heart Church Ladies Sodality. Eleanor enjoyed playing the piano and was a piano accompanist to local variety shows. She also volunteered at the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center and Berkshire Humane Society. Survivors include her 3 Brothers, Lawrence Battaini of Pittsfield, MA, Aldo Battaini of Wichita Falls, TX, Steven Battaini and his wife Maureen of Orange, CT. Eleanor also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and 5 God Children. She was predeceased by her brother George Battaini, and her 2 sisters, Mary Rose Killen and Theresa Anna Forte. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Graveside Service for Eleanor L. Rotz will be held Thursday, August 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Those attending are invited to meet at the family plot located in Holy Cross Section (on top of the hill).
