Daniels Tower

1920-2013 Eleanor Tower, 93, of Williamstown, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 5, 2013 She was born Eleanor Gascoigne Daniels in Andover, MA. on May 15, 1920 to Roy Ashton Daniels and Anna Mae McDougall. She lived in Andover, in the house her father built, until she married her high school sweetheart Ossie Tower. They put down roots in Birmingham Michigan where Ele immersed herself in raising 4 children and volunteering for Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and civic activities. Eleanor inherited her father's talent for drawing and painting. This artistic ability furthered her interests in fashion, home decorating and design, needlepoint, knitting and gardening design. Ele and Oz retired to Williamstown in 1974. She continued her volunteering at the Women's Exchange and North Adams Regional Hospital. Eleanor will be remembered for her engaging charm, warm smile and ease with strangers. Survivors include two daughters, Ellen Bayliss and her husband, Mel Krant of Williamstown, with whom she made her home; Judy Kajander and her husband Tom of Houston, and son Charles "Chuck" Tower of Aspen, Co. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Susan Tower of Boulder, Co. Trevor Bayliss and his wife Amanda, Jarrett Bayliss and his wife Jennifer and Jonah Bayliss and his wife Austin all of Williamstown, Evan Kajander of Billings, MT, Chris Kajander of New York, and Jackson Kajander of Houston, as well as 6 great grandchildren, Jameson, Maisie, Everett, Charlie, William and Jovi Bayliss all of Williamstown. She is predeased by her husband, Oswald and her son John "Jack" Tower. Per her request there are no calling hours or services. Donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of Northern Berkshire through the Flynn and Dagnoli Funeral Home, 74 Marshall Street in North Adams, MA.
