Eleanor Mary Thibodeau Vivori

1925-2013 Mrs. Eleanor Mary Thibodeau Vivori, 88 of 43 Harding Ave. North Adams, died Monday November 11, 2013 at her home. She was born in Colrain, Mass., on October 25, 1925, son of Hubert and Mary (LaPierre) Thibodeau. She attended Colrain schools and graduated from the Arms Academy in Shelburne Falls in 1943. Eleanor graduated from North Adams State College in 1947 and received a Master's Degree there in 1962. Eleanor began her teaching career in Charlemont elementary schools and also taught in Greenfield. Following her marriage, she took time off to raise her family. She later returned to teaching in the Adams elementary school system, where she worked until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses and the Massachusetts Retired Teacher's Association. Eleanor enjoyed gardening and reading and was an avid Boston Celtics Basketball fan. She was the widow of Joseph Arthur Vivori who died on December 17, 2003. They were married on June 26, 1950. Survivors include one daughter, Carol Vivori of North Adams and two sons including Col. Joseph Vivori (USAF, ret.) and his wife, Peggy of Macon, GA; and Philip Vivori and his wife, Terry of Clarksburg, MA. She also leaves three grandchildren including Colleen Vivori of Washington, DC; Philip Bowen of North Adams; and Jacob Vivori of Salt Lake City, UT; and nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. Two brothers are deceased including Henry Thibodeau and John Thibodeau. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for Eleanor Vivori will be held at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness on Saturday November 16, 2013 at 1:00 PM. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
