1949 - 2015 PITTSFIELD Elizabeth R. Doucette, 66, of 283 Connecticut Avenue died Tuesday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on March 6, 1949 in Pittsfield, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Rita Dansereau Francoeur. A lifelong Pittsfield resident, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1966 graduate of St. Joseph Central High School. Mrs. Doucette was employed as a Title 1 Bookkeeper for the Pittsfield Public School System for 28 years. She retired on August 31, 2012. She had also served as volunteer for Berkshire Occupational Health for many years. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and also volunteered for Berkshire Habitat for Humanity. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, theater, baking, going to the movies and attending the Thursday Night Panera Ladies Club. An avid Red Sox and Baltimore Raven fan, she was also well known for her awesome homemade pies. Her greatest love though was her family. She leaves her husband, Arthur J. Doucette of Pittsfield whom she married on June 2, 1973. Her daughter, Melanie Lynn Doucette and her spouse, LaVonne of Pasadena, MD, a son, Corey A. Doucette and his girlfriend, Rachel McGuigan of Lanesboro, three brothers, David Francoeur of Indiana, Richard Francoeur and his wife, June of Florida and Peter Francoeur and his wife, Patricia of Cheshire, two sisters, Lorraine Lucchesi of Tewksbury, MA and Maureen Dimise and her husband, John of Pittsfield. She also leaves her two sisters-in-law; Anne Savas and her husband, Charles of Woburn, MA and Anita Gutmann and her husband, Peter of Adams, MA as well as her brother-in-law; Denis Doucette and his wife, Carol of Pittsfield. 18 nieces and nephews and one great-nephew. She was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Joseph Lucchesi and by her father and mother-in-law, Yvon and Sylvia Doucette. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Elizabeth R. Doucette who died May 26, 2015 will be held Friday at 9:15 a.m. from the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10a.m. at Sacred Heart Church celebrated by the Rev. James K. Joyce, pastor. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held TODAY, Thursday, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations in memory of Elizabeth may be made to the Out to Innovate Scholarship for LGBTQ Students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math in care of the Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
