1932 - 2015 WILLIAMSTOWN Elizabeth A. Grennon, formerly of Williamstown, peacefully passed away on the morning of Wednesday, September 23rd. She was born in Troy, NY, December 16, 1932. Bett was one of eight children born to Rose and W. Joseph Shanley of Troy and Saratoga Lake, NY. She was educated at Holy Names Academy and attended the College of New Rochelle. Following her marriage to William E. Grennon on May 28, 1955, they later relocated to Williamstown, MA where he began his Architecture practice. BettyAnn was predeceased by her loving husband Bill in May of 2000. After raising five children, she worked for many years in the banking industry first as a teller and eventually became the branch manager for Berkshire Bank & Trust in Williamstown. She served on the board of the former Boys Club, Williamstown, the Board of Trade and was past President of the St. Patrick's Guild. Upon retirement, Bett and Bill spent winters at their home in Boca Raton, FL and travelled throughout the world together. She enjoyed cruising on the high seas, ballroom dancing, music and spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her daughters, Michele Grennon and her husband, Joffree Barrnett of New Castle, NH, Maribeth Casey and her husband, David of Williamstown, sons, William Edward Grennon, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Amherst, NH, Christopher Grennon and his wife, Patty of Cape Elizabeth, ME, Terence Grennon and his wife, Lauren of NYC. In addition, she leaves behind nine grandchildren, Courtney Wood, Michaela Phaneuf, Conor and Elise Casey, Evan and Liam Grennon, Andrew, Christopher and Kathryn Grennon and one great-grandson, Winter Phaneuf. She also leaves one sister, Joan Verdile and three brothers, Donald, Kevin and Terence Shanley plus many nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was pre-deceased by her brother, Joseph Shanley and two sisters, Kaye Vavasour and Eileen McCabe, as well as in-laws Jack Vavasour, Thomas McCabe, Catherine Shanley and Ray Verdile FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4 to 7pm at Flynn-Dagnoli West Chapel Funeral Home, 521 West Main St., North Adams, MA . A celebration of her life service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 10a.m. at St.'s Patrick and Raphael Parish, Southworth Street, Williamstown, MA.
