Elizabeth A. "Betty" Larrivee

1932 - 2013 LEE Elizabeth A. "Betty" Larrivee, 80, of 55 Pease Terrace, died Saturday, April 13, 2013, at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield.

She was born in Lee on Oct. 30, 1932, the daughter of Angelo and Dora Lue Giganti. She graduated from Lee High School in 1950 as class valedictorian. She then earned an assessors designation at the University of Massachusetts.

Elizabeth was employed at Hurlbut Paper Co. in South Lee for several years and then as clerk to the Lee Selectmen and eventually became an assessor for the town of Lee. In recent years she volunteered at the Lee Information Booth.

She lead a full and wonderful life, skiing and playing golf in her younger years and traveling to spend precious time with children and grandchildren throughout her years.

Her husband, Maurice E. Larrivee, whom Elizabeth married on July 11, 1953, died July 5, 2007.

She leaves her son, Wayne T. Larrivee, and his wife, Julie, of Grafton, Wis.; two daughters, Michele L. Turpin, and her husband Gary of Sugar Land, Texas, and Patricia A. Fisher and her husband, Dr. Scott of Cos Cob, Conn.; a sister, Helen G. Botto of Lee; a brother, George M. Giganti former Lt. Commander in the Navy from Honolulu, Hawaii; her eight grandchildren, Scott Larrivee and his wife, Rachel, Bryan Larrivee, Matthew, Zachary, Lindsay and Stephen Fisher, Bridget and Sarah Turpin.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Elizabeth Larrivee will be Thursday, April 18, at 9:15 a.m. from the KELLY FUNERAL HOME in Lee with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
