Elizabeth P. "Betty" Marchetto

1919-2013 LENOX Mrs. Elizabeth P. "Betty" Marchetto, 93, of 123 Holmes Road, Lenox died Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Providence Care Center in Lenox.

She was born in Pittsfield on December 26, 1919, a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Spadaro) Adornetto. She attended local elementary schools and was a 1937 graduate of Pittsfield High School and a 1940 graduate of Wilfred Beauty Academy. Most of her life she was a homemaker.

She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and had been a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church and its Ladies Guild.

She enjoyed hand crafts, knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, rug braiding, sewing, cooking, Bingo and traveling.

She was the widow of Valentino Marchetto, co-founder of Marland Mold of Pittsfield, who died on February 3, 1994. They were married on June 27, 1942.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Marchetto and his wife, Patricia, of Pittsfield, Donne Marchetto and his wife, Mary, of Nottingham, N.H.; two brothers, Carmen Adornetto and Salvatore Adornetto, both of Pittsfield; three sisters, Josephine Scalise, Frances Ricci, and Catherine Cardillo, all of Pittsfield; five grandchildren, Shannon Marchetto LeBlanc, Kristi, Anthony, Peter and Nicole Marchetto; and three great-grandchildren, Melina, Cole, and Stefen. She also leaves nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Private calling hours for family and relatives of Elizabeth P. "Betty" Marchetto will be Friday, June 28, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church with the Rev. Geoffrey J. Deeker C.S.S. officiating. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
