Elizabeth J. Sinclair

Ms. Elizabeth Jane Sinclair, 70, of 75 Commercial St., Adams, Mass., died Monday June 2, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center.She was born in Bennington, Vt. on Sep. 8, 1943, daughter of Warren and Julienne Betit Sinclair. She attended Bennington schools and graduated from Bennington Catholic High School in 1961. Elizabeth was last employed by Berkshire Community Action Council, or BCAC, for many years. She was primarily a homemaker until her family was grown up. She was a communicant of St. John Paul the Great Church in Adams. Elizabeth attended AA. She enjoyed reading, trips to the beach, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her former husband, Anthony F. Scarpitto, and her grandson, Searle Watts. Survivors include one daughter, Carrie Watts and her husband, Richard, of Mercer, Wis.; two sons, James Scarpitto and his wife, Kerry, of Pittsfield, Mass., and Eric Scarpitto and his wife, Michelle, of Adams, Mass.; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Martin Sinclair of Bennington, Vt., and Thomas Sinclair of Pownal, Vt.; her close friend, Barbara Meczywor, and nieces, nephews, and cousins. FUNERAL NOTICE: A graveside service for Elizabeth Sinclair will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 1 p.m. in Parklawn Cemetery in Bennington, Vt. There are no calling hours.
