1914 - 2012 ADAMS Elizabeth (Leja) St. John, 97, of 98 Alger St., Adams, died early Sunday morning, Sept. 2, 2012, at her home.

She was born in Adams on Nov. 14, 1914, daughter of Antoni and Anna (Skiba) Leja, and attended Adams schools. Mrs. St. John was a homemaker most all of her life. She was a communicant of the former St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Adams. She was a former member of Court Sancta Regina of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas in Adams. She enjoyed baking and going to tag sales.

Her husband, James F. St. John, died on Nov. 9, 2002. They were married on Nov. 20, 1942, in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, by the late Rev. Edmund M. Kempinski.

She is survived by two sons, James F. St. John, Jr. of Adams, and Robert V. St. John and his wife, Jeanne, of Federal Way, WA; a daughter, Mary Ann Balut and her husband, Russell, of Belchertown; six grandchildren, Jennie DiFelice, Timothy Balut, Tammy St. John, Shaun St. John, Ryan St. John and Jaclyn St. John; three great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Nicholas DiFelice and Maeve Balut; and many nieces. nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Joseph Leja; and by seven sisters, Helen Colla, Amelia Rice, Victoria Furman, Ludvina Kondej, Frances Czaja, Isabelle Pelczynski and Josephine Wilusz.

FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8th, at 11:30 a.m. from the PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Adams, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor. Burial will follow in Cheshire Cemetery, Cheshire. Calling hours will be Saturday morning from 10:30 until 11:30 at the funeral home.
