Ellen Lepotakis Obituary
Ellen Lepotakis

1928 - 2014 PITTSFIELD Ellen Lepotakis, 85, passed away peacefully at home on May 11, 2014. She was born in Pittsfield on Sep. 29, 1928, to Peter N. Zarvis and his wife, Electra Salis. She was educated in the Pittsfield school system and worked as a secretary at General Electric upon graduation. On May 16, 1954, Ellen married Leo Lepotakis and left her job to start a family. Together, they had three children, Emanuel Lepotakis, Peter Lepotakis, and Corinne Keegan. Once the children were fully grown, she used the restaurant license, which had been in her family's possession since 1938, to start Patrick's Pub in 1985, and together with her children, helped to make the Pub a local favorite. Ellen loved to go to work and see her children every day. Besides her children, Ellen has four wonderful grandchildren, Christopher and Stephen Lepotakis, and Jared and Alaina Keegan, all of whom she adored. She spent her last few years happy and content at home, enjoying frequent visits from friends and family. Besides her children and grandchildren, she is survived by Emanuel's wife, Sheila, and her son-in-law, Brian Keegan. She also leaves her sister, Bessie Ekonomon of North Carolina, with whom she shared not only her love, but her birthday, September 29. Separated by miles but nothing else, they called each other every week to share their stories through the years. Ellen will be deeply missed by her family. Ellen was predeceased by her husband in 2007. The family would like to thank the host of angels who cared for their mother. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Ellen Lepotakis will be held Thursday, May 15, at 11 a.m., at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 73 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. Calling hours will be Wednesday, from 4 to 7 p.m., at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires or to Community Resources for Autism, both in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
