Eloise "Jill" L. Newell

1948 - 2016 Mrs. Eloise "Jill" L. Newell, 68, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away, after a long battle with cancer, on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Baltimore, MD on April 19, 1948, the daughter of Robert M. and Mary C. Boyd Mottar. Jill graduated from Ahlish Girls School in Beirut, Lebanon in 1967, while her father, who was a Time Magazine photographer, was on assignment. She later received her Bachelor's degree from the University of La Verne in La Verne, CA. This is where she met her husband, George and after graduation they moved to Pittsfield. Mrs. Newell worked at Shearson Lehman Brothers in Pittsfield before moving to Harrisburg, PA where she worked in sales and later as a Dental Assistant. In 1994 she moved to Pittsburgh, PA and worked in customer service for International Masters Publisher. She excelled in this position by having the ability to speak French and Spanish fluently. Jill later worked for United Health Group and for the past 11 years she has worked at the General Nutrition Corporation (GNC) headquarters in Pittsburgh. Jill enjoyed her garden and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, George Newell III; two children, Christine M. Newell and Jennifer C. Schulze; two granddaughters, Julia and Kaitlyn Schulze and a brother, Peter Mottar of Gainsville, FL. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Mary Mottar who passed away at a young age. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Eloise "Jill" L. Newell will be Thursday, October 27, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. from the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. There will be an hour of visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, October 27, 2016, prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. If friends desire, donations may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care of Pittsburgh, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home, in her memory.
