1928-2012 WILLIAMSTOWN Mrs. Elva "Dee" (McKay) Lewis, 84 of 118 Church St. Williamstown, died Thursday November 8, 2012 at North Adams Commons.
She was born in Pittsfield, on October 11, 1928, daughter of George and Elva (Green) McKay. She attended North Adams schools and graduated from Drury High School in 1948.
Elva was last employed as a home health aide with Molari Home Health Care. Before that, she worked at the North Berkshire VNA for many years and also worked at New England Telephone Co.
Dee attended the Williamstown Baptist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Naomi Chapter where she received a 50-year pin. She was also a member of the Friendship Club and volunteered for Hospice. Dee enjoyed travel, especially her trip to Scotland. She liked cats.
She was the widow of Richard E. Lewis who died on May 1, 1986. They were married on December 2, 1978.
Survivors include one daughter- Suzanne Young Fierro, and her husband David A. Fierro Jr. of Stamford, Vt., One sister- Betty M. Mancuso of Leesburg, Fla., and nieces and nephews. A brother and a sister are deceased including Robert McKay and Ruth Baker.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for Elva "Dee" Lewis will be held Thursday November 15, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of North Adams. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
