Obituary Condolences

LANESBORO -- Emma A. Bailey, 70, of 35 Ocean St. died Monday at home following a long illness.

Born in North Adams on Nov. 25, 1933, daughter of Joseph and Amelia Bertozzi Maggioli, she was a graduate of Drury High School.

A homemaker, Mrs. Bailey had worked at the former Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams for eight years after graduation.

She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Pittsfield. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, fishing and the outdoors.

She and her husband, Ralph E. Bailey Jr., were married Feb. 11, 1961, in St. Anthony's Church in North Adams.

Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, John J. Bailey and Steven R. Bailey, both of Cheshire; a daughter, Diane M. Bailey of Lanesboro; a sister, Josephine LaCombe of Malone, N.Y., and three grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Emma A. Maggioli Bailey, 70, who died May 10, 2004, will take place Thursday, May 13, at 8 at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-BENCIVENGA FUNERAL HOME, 5 Elm St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 9 in St. Joseph's Church by the Rev. Venance Max Kishe. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today, May 12, from 5 to 7 at the funeral home. Mrs. Bailey is survived by three grandchildren, Trevor, Scott and Tawnia Bailey, three nieces and a nephew. She was predeceased by two sisters, Pauline and Mary Maggioli, and a brother, Paul Maggioli. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire or St. Joseph's Church in care of the funeral home.
