Ernest R. LaCasse

1930-2013 Mr. Ernest R. LaCasse, 83 of 557 Church St. North Adams, MA died Monday October 28, 2013 at North Adams Regional Hospital. He was born in Adams, MA on August 8, 1930, son of Ernest and Mabel (Herzog) LaCasse. He attended Adams schools. Ernest was a veteran of the Mass. National Guard. He was employed at Pfizer-Specialty Minerals for 35 years until his retirement in 1990. He later worked part-time at Quadlands Flowers. He was a communicant of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Ernie enjoyed hunting, fishing and model building. He was a history buff and also enjoyed plane rides and especially spending time with family. His wife, Claire E. (Cardinal) LaCasse died March 3, 2002. They were married September 10, 1949. He leaves three sons including Ernest LaCasse Jr. and his wife, Mary of Cheshire; Christopher LaCasse of Adams and Michael LaCasse of North Adams. He also leaves eight grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, "Sandy". Two sons are deceased including Sgt. Joseph LaCasse who died March 18, 1989 and Bruce who died in 1952. Two brothers and two sisters are deceased including Lucille Felix, Theresa Gerry; and Clarence and Leo LaCasse. FUNERAL NOTICE: A Funeral Mass for Ernest LaCasse will be celebrated Thursday October 31, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in Southview cemetery. Calling hours at FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS WEST CHAPEL, 521 West Main St. North Adams, MA are Thursday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 AM.
