1926 - 2016 Mrs. Ethel Gaudette, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 17, 2016. She was born in Pittsfield on February 18, 1926 the daughter of Louis and Mable Perkins Yoss and attended Pittsfield Schools. Mrs. Gaudette was a homemaker. She had also worked at the former J. J. Newberry on North St. when she was younger and later for Sheaffer Eaton Co. She and her husband were accomplished ballroom dancers and Ethel was past President of the So- Ed Ballroom Dance Club. She was a member of the VFW post 448 Women's Auxiliary. Ethel enjoyed knitting, crochet and needle point and also crossword puzzles and her trips to Foxwoods Casino. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, whom affectionately referred to her house as "Camp Gramma". She was a communicant of St. Charles Church. Mrs. Gaudette was predeceased by her husband, Francis E. Gaudette, whom she married on April 15, 1950 in St. Joseph Church; he passed away on December 24, 2013. She is survived by two daughters, Cathy T. Gaudette Taylor of Egg Harbor Township, NJ and Karen A Gaudette Winslow and her husband Kevin Winslow of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, Christopher Taylor (Stephanie Kingsbury) of Reno NV, Daniel Taylor (Amanda) of South Amboy, NJ Ethan Winslow and Maggie Winslow both of Pittsfield; 3 great grandchildren, Madison and Chase Taylor of Reno, NV and Sadie Rose Taylor of South Amboy, NJ; a sister Shirley Masdea of Lenox and a sister in law, Marie Sevara of Johnson City, NY. She also leaves her son in law, Richard Taylor of Bowling Green, KY; four nieces Donna, Darlene, Jeanette and Anne Marie; a nephew Scott and her beloved cat, Simba. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Gaudette will be Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 9 a.m. from the Dwyer Funeral Home, 776 North St., Pittsfield MA 01201, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Church, celebrated by Rev. A. Peter Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Ethel's name to The Berkshire Humane Society or St. Charles Parish Improvement Fund, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home.
