1935 - 2014 WILLIAMSTOWN Eugene Charles Reese, 78, of 2898 Hancock Road, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Schenectady, N.Y., on Dec. 3, 1935, the son of Charles L. and Margaret Billsen Reese, he was a graduate of Mechanicville (N.Y.) schools. A Korean War veteran, Mr. Reese enlisted with the United States Army on Dec. 18, 1953, served a year and nine months overseas, and was honorably discharged on May 10, 1956. Mr. Reese was manager of R.I. Baker, plumbing supply company, in Clarksburg, where he had worked for more than 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Red Sox, and enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed watching westerns and racing on television. Mr. Reese's wife, the former Lenora J. Trufant, died Dec. 11, 2000. He is survived by a son, Victor E. (Debra) Reese of Adams; a daughter, Donna J. Harlan of Williamstown; two brothers, Donald (Carol) Reese of Clarksburg, George (Mary) Reese of Pittsfield; a sister, Charlene MacWhinnie of N.Y.; four grandchildren, Sarah Reese, John Meyette, Robert Reese, and Amber Reese Tatro, and three great grandchildren, Skye, Austin, and Matthew. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Reese, and a sister, Dorothy Demers. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Eugene Charles Reese will be held at a later date. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the or to the Berkshire Humane Society both in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
