Eunice F. Hurley

1927 - 2013 DALTON Eunice F. Hurley, 85, passed away January 17,2013, following a long Illness.

Born in Pittsfield, on October 26, 1927, she was the daughter of Walter B. and Vera Mongue Fox Sr. She attended Dalton Schools and was a 1945 graduate of Dalton High School. Eunice was employed from 1945 until her retirement in 1984 at GE Plastics. She was Jack Welch's Executive Administrative Assistant while there. After her retirement they stayed in touch with each other. Mr. Welch acknowledged Eunice in one of his books. Eunice was also a member of the GE Pensioners Quarter Century Club. he enjoyed traveling with her husband and often times they took their nieces on their vacations to Cape Cod with them. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, playing Jumble and she especially loved dogs and cats. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Catholic Church.

She married Richard J. Hurley on May 17, 1952. He passed away May 30, 1977.

Eunice leaves her sister, Joan Conner of Dalton, nieces Debra Conner of Sturbridge, MA, Kathryn Fahey of Great Barrington, Maureen Fahey of Dalton, Mary Ann Jones of Hinsdale, New Hampshire, Susan Wilson of Williamstown, nephews James Conner of Washington, MA, Michael Fahey and Robert Fox both of Dalton, and several other nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Fahey, brother, Walter B. Fox, Jr. and nephews, Richard Conner, John Fox and Thomas Fox.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for Mrs. Eunice F. Hurley will be held Tuesday, January 22 at 11 AM at Bartlett Wellington Funeral Home in Dalton, with Deacon Pasqual Baldasaro officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in the Spring. There will be no calling hours.
