She was married for 62 years to retired Army Major Anthony J. (Tony) Wirmusky, deceased in 2009. The greatest heartbreak of her life was the death of her son Stephen in 1993. Faye brought a joyful, inventive approach to motherhood while succeeding at the top of a male-dominated industry, advancing from receptionist to national association director in 10 years. Faye inspired all who knew her with her stylist integration of family life, career, and a vibrant social life in Atlanta, Hawaii, the Netherlands and at Hedges Lake. She was an accomplished bridge player and crossword puzzlist, with a deep affinity for the beauty of wild birds.
