Florry E. Ingalls

1917-2015 PITTSFIELD Florry E. Ingalls, 97, of 632 Pecks Road, Pittsfield, died January 27, 2015. He was born in Orange, Mass., on June 13, 1917, son of Fred and Dorothy Brown Ingalls. He graduated from Orange High School in 1935. He served eight years in the United States Navy. He served on the U.S.S. Falcon during the first rescue of a sunken submarine, the U.S.S. Squalus. He rejoined the Navy shortly after Pearl Harbor, serving mainly in the Pacific Ocean on patrol craft. After serving in the Navy, he worked in the General Electric as an electrician and as a Senior draftsman, retiring in 1980 with 38 years of service. His wife, the former Rose Reed, died in 2005; they were married 60 years. He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Carol Redmond of Bryantown, Maryland, and Mrs. Bonnie LaPierre and her husband, William, of Richmond, Mass.; a granddaughter, Laura Kattan and her husband, David, of Longmeadow, and a great-grandson, Luke Kattan; and a son, Timothy Ingalls of Pittsfield. Florry's family would like to express a sincere thank you to all the excellent people of HospiceCare in The Berkshires. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Florry E. Ingalls are private. Burial will be in Pittsfield Cemetery. There are no calling Hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Wildlife Association in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME.
