Floyd P. Lowry II

1940 - 2016 WILLIAMSTOWN Floyd P. Lowry II (aka Sonny or Pete) was born on Clover Hill Farm in Williamstown, MA on November 25, 1940. A graduate of Williamstown HS '58 and N Adams State College '70 (now MCLA), he had a lifelong appreciation for learning, the natural environment and carpentry. He was a very talented builder, having built wooden boats as well as designing and constructing solar earth homes in north Georgia. He was unique and memorable, with an inviting laugh and smiling eyes. He died peacefully at home in Atlanta, GA on October 30, 2015. He leaves two sons, Joshua of Atlanta and Timothy of Seattle and a daughter Kathryn, as well as two grandsons, Liam and Milo of Seattle. Surviving family also includes brother, David Lowry of Newton, MA, sister Anne Grande of South Carolina, cousin Verne Rosenburg as well as many nieces and nephews and life-long Lowry family friend, Eleanor Ostrander (Nonie) of Williamstown. Dear Georgia friends include Jivka and Peter Yanakieva and their son, Peter as well as his Wanderers' community. FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, July 1st at Sherman-Burbank Chapel at Eastlawn Cemetery, 605 Main Street in Williamstown, MA.
