Franca Antonia Eissmann

1930-2012 DALTON Franca Antonia Eissmann, 82, of Pleasantview Dr. passed away after a long illness, Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at home surrounded by her family.

Franca was born April 30, 1930 in Ricaldone (Piemonte) Italy, the daughter of Pietro and Anna Maria Cornara.

She was educated at Sacred Heart College in Italy.

Franca was a member of the First Congregational Church of Dalton, where she served on various boards, helped establish the Friendly Visitor's Group, and was a founding member of the church's Green Gargoyle Gift Shop.

She served on the board of the local chapter of the MSPCC; belonged to PEO and Current Topics Club, and was active in supporting children's educational activities.

Franca enjoyed many and varied interests including fine arts, sewing, gardening, cooking and opera.

She was married to Kurt Eissmann in Pittsfield, and this year they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.

Besides her husband Kurt she leaves a daughter Karen Veremko and her husband Greg, son Peter and his wife Bonnie, daughter Paula, and four grandchildren.

Franca's family wishes to express sincere gratitude for all the HospiceCare in the Berkshires staff who cared for Franca.
