Frances Hazel St. John 1944-2013 PITTSFIELD Frances Hazel St. John, 69, of 217 Wahconah Street, died Thursday, November 7, 2013, at her home. Born in Pittsfield on November 2, 1944, a daughter of the late George Tubbs and Hazel Gaylord Tubbs Dimotropolis, she was educated in Pittsfield schools, was a graduate of Pittsfield High School, and earned an associate's degree in business from Berkshire Community College. Mrs. St. John was a homemaker. She also did clerical record keeping for local businesses. She enjoyed playing bingo at St. Charles Church. Her first husband, Charles A. Shaw, Sr., pre-deceased her. She is survived by her former husband, Claude St. John, of Albany, New York. Mrs. St. John leaves two sons, Charles A. Shaw, Jr., and his wife, Paula Pravia, of Peru, and Carl St. John and his wife, Kathy, of Pittsfield; two daughters, Kimberly M. Shaw of Pittsfield, and Sharlene Perrault of Pittsfield; two brothers, Ernest Tubbs of Pittsfield and Robert Tubbs of Lanesborough; a sister, Beatrice Nutbrown of Dalton; and nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a brother, George Tubbs, and two sisters, Barbara Laurent and Evelyn Clark. FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services for Frances H. St. John will be held Wednesday, November 13, at 1:30 p.m., at Pittsfield Cemetery with Pastor Sigmund Sadzinski officiating. (Those attending are invited to meet inside the Cemetery gate at 1:15) There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
