1934-2013 CANASTOTA, N.Y. Francis A. DiLego, 79, former resident of Adams, and now at Will New Blvd., Canastota, N.Y., went to heaven on November 4, 2013. He was born in North Adams on September 26, 1934, the son of Elizabeth DiSanti and John DiLego Sr. One of eight children, Carmen, William, John, Bob and Donald who are deceased; and a sister, Elizabeth Loholtd of Port Wentworth, Ga.; and a brother, Pasquale of Essex Junction, Vt. He graduated from Adams High School and attended Bryant College where he met his bride, Joan Oleskiewicz, at an alumni reunion. They were married on May 22, 1965. Together, they have two amazing children, Lisa M. DiLego of Savannah, Ga., and Francis "Tony" DiLego Jr. of Oneida, N.Y., who added to the family the "best" daughter-in-law, Amy and their three delightful children, Zachary, who is studying bio-medical engineering at RIT, Lindsay and Lucas at home. Also joining the family were Tootsie the mastiff and Maverick (the little one). Fran was easy to please and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He knew your name and always had a ready smile with a twinkle in his eye. Fran worked in many area restaurants and was known for his sauce and famous strawberry pies. He will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched. FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be at PACIOREK FUNERAL HOME, 13 Hoosac Street, Adams, Mass., from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2013 with a memorial service to follow. Burial will be made in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Donation suggestions are listed at the funeral home. Local arrangements are under the direction of the Campbell-Dean Funeral Home, Inc., Canastota, NY.
