Francis "Bob" Gromacki 1938-2012 Francis "Bob" Gromacki, 74, of 57 Bossidy Drive, Pittsfield, formerly of Deming Street, Dalton, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at the home of his daughter, Sue Whitcomb, and her husband, David Whitcomb. Born in Pittsfield on April 2, 1938, a son of the late Constantine and Pauline Koziol Gromacki, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. He had served with the United States National Guard. Mr. Gromacki was employed as a mold maker for Hi-Tech Mold & Tool retiring in 2009 with more than twenty-five years service. He had, at one time, owned his own tool and die business. Mr. Gromacki was a communicant of St. Agnes Church. He was an avid golfer who was a member of the Skyline Country Club. He was a semi-pro bowler and had been seen on television bowling programs, back in the day. He also enjoyed playing cards and eating clams. Mr. Gromacki's wife, the former Sandra L. Sultaire, died March 7, 2012. Mr. Gromacki is survived by his former wife, Lorraine Amato, of Venice, Fla., four daughters, Sheryl Ann Gromacki of Pittsfield, Susan Whitcomb and her husband, David, of Pittsfield, Sallie Rovezzi and her husband, James, of South Windsor, Conn., and Shelly Waycaster and her husband, Allan, of Boynton Beach, Fla.; a son, Stephen Gromacki of Pittsfield; two sisters, Laura Demick and Jeanette Kushi, and a brother, William Gromacki; as well as six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and four stepgrandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a sister, Stella Russo, and a brother, Richard Gromacki. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Francis "Bob" Gromacki will be held Friday, July 13, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours are today, from 4 to 7 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in PITTSFIELD. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Gromacki may be made to the in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
