Francis "Frank" Xavier Mackoul 1929-2012 GREAT BARRINGTON Francis "Frank" Xavier Mackoul 83 of Cooper Road, Great Barrington, died peacefully on Wednesday March 14, 2012 at Berkshire Medical Center. He was born in Winsted, Conn., on March 5, 1929 son of Peter and Margaret Murray Mackoul. He attended Sheffield Schools. He was the former owner of Auction House, he also worked for Southern Berkshire Janitorial Service, he was a Special Police officer for Great Barrington for 9 years, a member of the Great Barrington Fire Department for 24 years, Health Inspector, Weights and Measures Inspector, antiques and collectibles, Dealer for over 60 years, Supervisor of Searles Castle for 18 years, a member of the Berkshire County Sheriff's Department and a member of the Knights of Columbus Mt. Everett Council #513. He was a communicant of St. Peter's Church. Frank's first wife the former Mary S. Spadaccini whom he married November 24, 1949 in Corpus Christi Church, predeceased him on December 24, 2000. He leaves his wife the former Cynthia "Cindy" Guillotte, whom he married February 16, 2007, one son Garry Mackoul and his wife Susan of East Harwich, Mass., one daughter Deborah "Debbie" Ball and her husband Mike, of Great Barrington, three grandchildren Dylan and Kevin Mackoul and Megan Ball, three step children James and Chad Broderick, and Carrie Eirish, six step grand children, Bret, Kayla, Tanner, Hailey, Alina, and Madilyn. Besides his first wife Mary, Frank was predeceased by two brothers, George and Robert, and two sisters, Agnes Johnson, and Marion French. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Francis "Frank" Xavier Mackoul who died March 14, will be held on Monday March 19, with a Liturgy Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church with the Reverend William P. Murphy pastor, officiating. In keeping with Frank's wishes there will be no calling hours.
